Hyper-heuristic genetic algorithm for hybrid flow shop with rush orders insertion rescheduling problem

Abstract

Aiming at the rescheduling problems of hybrid flow shop with rush order insertion, this paper proposed a hyper-heuristic genetic algorithm based on the two-layer coding. Aiming at the double-decision characteristics of order sort and machine selection in the hybrid flow shop, this algorithm designed a two-layer coding scheme in the low level. Each individual represented both order sort and machine selection information, and corresponded to a unique scheduling solution. Then the low level proposed 12 kinds of sorting and selection heuristics for iterative optimization of individuals. The high level of the algorithm used an adaptive genetic algorithm to determine the operation combination of order sort heuristic and machine selection heuristic and the sort of execution of each combination. And it designed an adaptive mutation operator to optimize the effectiveness of the algorithm. The results of large-scale data experiments show that the proposed algorithm has good solving quality and efficiency.
