Partheno-genetic algorithm based on explore-develop-jump strategy for solving traveling salesman problem

Abstract

Aiming at the problems of premature and slow convergence speed of genetic algorithm in solving TSP, this paper proposed a partheno-genetic algorithm based on explore-develop-jump strategy(EDJS-PGA). The algorithm combined three operators of gene shift, reverse and exchange to form an exploration strategy, which could expand the search space of solutions and enhance the global search ability of the algorithm. Then, in order to enhance the local search ability of the algorithm, the algorithm integrated logistic chaotic mapping and improved circle operation into a chaotic mapping improved circle operator, which constituted a development strategy. Finally, the algorithm designed the nearest neighbor mutation operator for the same optimal individuals in the population to form a jump strategy, which enhanced the ability of the algorithm to jump out of the local optimal solution. This strategy had multiple functions such as individual variation, local optimization and prevention of premature puberty. Through simulation experiments on 18 TSP instances, the results show that the EDJS-PGA algorithm has higher accuracy and convergence speed than the traditional partheno-genetic algorithm, and the optimal solution deviation rate and average error rate are at a low level. Compared with other literature, the EDJS-PGA algorithm has stronger robustness and efficiency.
