Pico base station deployment based on non-Poisson point process modeling

Abstract

In order to improve the rationality of the actual base station deployment, for the base station deployment of the heterogeneous cellular network(HetNet), this paper considered the repulsion among MBSs, and the repulsion between MBS and PBS. First, this paper used the approximate SIR analysis method of cellular network to derive the coverage probability of the two-tier non-Poisson network. Next, it analyzed the network energy efficiency and derived the throughput and total network energy efficiency. Finally, it proposed an energy efficiency optimization algorithm for the transmission power, which maximized the network energy efficiency by optimizing the transmission power of the PBS. The simulation results show that, the coverage probability of proposed model is better than that of the two-tier HPPP model, and the energy efficiency optimization algorithm can increase the system energy efficiency by about 30%. In actual deployment, people should set the appropriate value of transmit power for PBSs, and control the distance among base stations.
