Projected Barzilai-Borwein gradient method for absolute value equations based on mathematical programs with complementarity constraints model

Abstract

This paper presented a mathematical program with complementarity constraints(MPCC) model to solve the absolute value equation Ax-|x|=b. Based on the new model, it applied the projected Barzilai-Borwein(BB) gradient method to solve a penalty subproblem and obtained the solution of the original problem. Preliminary numerical results illustrate the efficiency of the new method.
