Abstract

Since the nodes of the blockchain save data as copies, the increasing number of blocks in the blockchain leads to a raise in storage pressure on nodes as time goes on, and the storage problem has become one of the bottlenecks in the blockchain application areas. To solve the problem of storage pressure in the blockchain, this paper proposed scalable storage scheme based on chameleon hash, in which the blocks were divided into hot or cold blocks with high or low security characteristics through the successfully attacked probability and the improved temperature model. Based on chameleon hash algorithm and the improved Merkle tree, the cold blocks with high security characteristics were partly stored on nodes. During the storing process, the data remained unchanged except that the cold blocks with high security characteristics were reconstructed. The simulation experiments show that the proposed scheme can reduce the total amount of data storage in the blockchain and the reduce node storage pressure, without changing the blockchain structure and security performance. And the more blocks, the more advantages.
