Overview of single-sensor and multi-sensor point cloud 3D target detection methods

Abstract

As a kind of 3D environment data, point cloud has gotten a great deal of attention and has been applied to many scenarios because of its high accuracy. In recent years, deep learning has entered the field of point cloud, enabling the rapid development of point cloud data processing. Based on the deep learning point cloud three-dimensional target detection task, this paper firstly analyzed the characteristics of point cloud data and listed the point cloud data sets which was commonly used in daily tasks. Then this paper classified the process of single mode 3D object detection and multimode 3D object detection and did the comparison of the data sets performance between single-mode and multimode states. Finally, this paper summarized and prospected the development trend of current point cloud 3D target detection research.
